Roger Dale Jennings passed away suddenly on Friday, October 30th, at the age of 72. He was born and raised in Huntland, TN. After graduating in 1972, he and his family moved to Maryville, where he would make his home and build a life centered around family, community, and serving others.
Roger fell in love with UT football and was an avid fan. He attended all the games he could and travelled to many away games. On April 9th, 1992, he married the love of his life, Regina Tindell AKA “Ms. Daisy”. They shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. Roger loved to travel and was always happy to go wherever Regina wanted to go. He especially enjoyed their annual family beach trips, camping, jeeping, hiking, and participating in all the community activities.
Throughout his working years, Roger held several positions, including Winn Dixie, Sterling Seed & Supply, and Insurance sales. He eventually found his calling in the funeral business, which quickly became his passion. After 27 years, he retired but still had a strong desire to serve families in the area. That desire led him to start Blount Funeral and Cremation, allowing him to continue doing what he loved most—serving families during some of life's most difficult moments.
Roger loved people, especially his family, his community, and his staff at the funeral home. His compassion and dedication to serving others were evident in everything he did. He was also a faithful member of the Maryville Church of Christ for over 50 years.

Survivors: Wife, Regina Tindell Jennings; father, Ray Jennings; brother, Jerry (Rosemary) Jennings; children, Kevin Chadd (Christy) Jennings, Tiffany (John) O’Connor, Ben (Katrina Alvarez) Stone; grandchildren, Jarrett Newland, Schelby (Chris) McDonald, Allyson Jennings, Savannah O’Connor; great-grandchildren, Harvie, Elijah, and Cailyn; nieces/nephews, Stephan (Susan), Keith (Katie), Kevin (Angela), Jessica (Clint), Tina, Bradley (Katelyn), Cory (Brea), Mason, Amanda (Philip), Bethany (Tim).
The service will be held a Maryville Church of Christ, 611 Sherwood Dr, Maryville, TN 37801, on November 8th, 2026 at 2pm. Blount Funeral and Cremation will be handling the funeral arrangements and services.
