The deeper the love; the greater the grief.
Sally Morris, age 81, of Maryville, TN, passed away peacefully at home on August 23,2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to the late Ward and Julia Read. She married the love of her life, James Morris, and together they built a home filled with laughter, and unwavering support. For over 60 years they were inseparable partners. They enjoyed friends that were like family. Many camping trips on the river in the Palisades Park or staying in to play cards.
Sally devoted her life to her family. As a mother of two and grandmother of six and great grandmother of two she was the heart of every gathering — Always with a kind word, a great laugh and always time to listen.
Sally also cherished her brothers and sisters. They would talk almost every day. Time spent together was always full of love and laughter. Kay (Larry) Andrews, Donna Read, Paul (Christine) Read and the late Ward (Gail) Read.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband, James; her children — Diana (Daniel) Rancilio, Henry (Danielle) Morris, her six grandchildren — James, Alison (Stephen) Samuel (Alyssa) Michael, Katherine (Nicholas) and Joseph. Two great grandchildren— Lyla and Archer.
Sally taught us, by the way she lived, that to love fully is the greatest gift we can give. Her love remains with us, and so does our gratitude for every moment we shared with her.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
