Thomas Boyko 06/17/1930 - 06/10/2026
Thomas Boyko, Loving Father, Son, Brother, Beloved Neighbor, and Friend, age 95 of Oviedo, Florida passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026.
Born on June 17, 1930 in Peabody, Massachusetts, he was the son of Rodian Boyko (Father) and Fannie Hilchuk Boyko (Mother).
He is preceded in death by Lois Boyko (Wife), Anne Tkachuk (Sister), Irene Stipe (Sister), and Mary Boyko (Sister).
He is survived by Tom Boyko (Son), Patricia Long (Daughter), Mike Long (Son-In-Law), Tiffany Boyko (Granddaughter), and Austin Cole (Great Grandson).
Thomas Boyko graduated from Peabody High School, Peabody, Massachusetts on June 1, 1947.
He was a Corporal in the United States Army, in the Korean War (1st group to go) on Front Line, in Artillery from October 1, 1948 - September 30, 1951. Thomas then came home from the war and was given the job of teaching for the United States Army at the University of Maine teaching ROTC from October 1, 1951 - September 30, 1954.
On November 28, 1953, Thomas married Lois Boyko. Together they built a beautiful life and shared so many amazing memories with their children, and they shared 69 years of marriage, love, and partnership.
Over the course of Thomas Boyko's life from 1954-1991 he was the Manager of Eagle Tire Company, Uniss System Brake Service, Mc Donough Tire Company, and Clinton Square Auto Parts, all located in New Jersey where him and his wife and children lived during those years.
Thomas Boyko created Hackensack Christian School (now Bergen County Christian Academy) in Hackensack, New Jersey by working with himself, Mr. Robert Brower, and First Baptist Church of Hackensack. He was also the President of Hackensack Christian School Board of Education for many years.
Thomas was a member of the American Legion, a member of First Baptist Church of Hackensack (now Bergen Gospel Church), and a member of First Baptist Church of Oviedo (now Cross life Church). He was also a Deacon at both Churches and in the Adult Choir for many years.
Thomas was also President of the Cobblestone Maintenance Association Inc for many years in Oviedo, Florida.
He served on many Committees and Boards as well in Seminole County, Florida: Seminole County Parks & Preservation Advisory Committee, Seminole County Leisure Services Advisory Committee, Seminole County Library Advisory Board, and Seminole County Disability Advisory Board.
Lastly, he served on the Seminole County Sheriff's Office as a School Crossing Guard from 1994-2004.
Thomas Boyko was an inspirational, loving, caring, funny man who was loved by all who knew and loved him and he loved God with all his heart. His legacy and his life will be forever remembered and honored and will never be forgotten.
A Memorial Service in Maryville, Tennessee and in Oviedo, Florida will be held on upcoming dates and will be shared to all his Family and Friends when it has been made, so that all that may want to attend will be able to Honor his Life.
