Darrell G. Maples 04/23/1955 - 05/12/2026
Darrell G. Maples, 71 of Sevierville, Tn, saved by Christian Faith peacefully passed away at his home and went home to be with his Lord on May 12, 2026.
He was a gentle, quiet, and caring soul—a loyal and loving friend who could always be counted on for a listening ear and thoughtful advice. In his younger years, he worked as a carpenter before spending many years as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed fishing whenever he had the chance, a pastime he dearly loved until declining health prevented him from continuing. In his later years, he found joy in playing online games and formed lasting friendships with people from across the country.
Preceded in death by his mother, Frena Russell; stepfather, Jimmy Russell; father, Glenn Maples; grandparents, Clyde and Bea Mounger, Clark and Sophie Maples; uncles, Bill and Ed Mounger.
He is survived by his girlfriend Lisa Waters King, Sister Jamie (Jesse) Shrader; nephews Cameron and Hunter Shrader; neice Riley Shrader; stepson Kile Johnson (Tonya Curtsinger); uncles Bob (Linda) Mounger, Joe (Janice) Mounger, Frank (Tammy) Mounger; aunt June (David) Upchurch, and Mary Ellen Cable; and numerous other cousins and friends.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Darrell is now with his Lord and Savior. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Per his wishes, he was cremated and there will be no service at this time.
