Lois Everett Gregory 10/30/1928 - 06/05/2026
Lois Everett Gregory, age 97 of Alcoa, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home. Born in Blount County, preceded in death by husband Ray Gregory, parents James and Susie Everett, sisters Lona Roberts, Mattie Layne, Ollie Long, brothers George Everett, Fred Everett, and Bert Everett. She is survived by her sister, Wanda Sue Hammontree, her daughters, Jan Davidson (Mark), and Donna Lewis (Wayne). Four grandchildren, Nick Nitzband (Corry), Josh Davidson (Rachel), Bethany Brisson (Bryan), and Brittany Murray (Jeremiah). Ten great-grandchildren, Jaxon McCulla, Jace McCulla, Gemma Nitzband, Lizzie Davidson, Kylee Curtis, Tucker Brisson, Aubrey Davidson, Hazel Brisson, Hartley Nitzband, and Griffin Brisson.
Her number one priority was her family. In 1951 she married Ray Gregory and celebrated 44 years of marriage until the time of Ray’s death in 1995. She was known for her delicious meals she prepared every Sunday for after-church lunch until she was well into her eighties. Besides being a full-time housewife, she had worked at Proffitt’s Department Store in the credit department for a number of years. She was a proud graduate of Porter High School Class of 1946, and she many times made the comment it was her class at Porter that assigned the Panther as the school mascot. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Alcoa where she taught in the 4-year-old Sunday School department and worked many years during Vacation Bible School.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Doctor Elizabeth Mayes and Tina at East Tennessee Medical Group (Prisma). Also, for the excellent care from her caregiver, Ginger Tipton, assisted by Glenda Ogle, who together made it possible for her to remain at home until she was called to her Heavenly Home.
Graveside services will be held at Clark’s Grove Cemetery on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend John Lowe.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alcoa First Baptist Church, 819 Gilbert Street, Alcoa, Tennessee 37701.
