Jon Michael De Leeuw, lovingly known to most as “Mike,” age 75, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Maryville, Tennessee, surrounded by love.
Mike was born on October 4, 1950, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Lee Roy De Leeuw and Mary Edythe De Leeuw. He lived a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to family. A man of strong Christian belief, Mike loved the Lord deeply and lived out his faith through generosity, kindness, and genuine care for others.
Mike dedicated 29 years of his professional life to the San Diego Unified School District, where he served as a lead supervising mechanic. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his skill, leadership, and reliability until his well-earned retirement.
He was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Mike loved NASCAR, sprint car racing, shopping trips to Costco, and keeping a clean and orderly home. Above all, he cherished time with his family and the simple joys of life. His loving spirit, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Mary Edythe De Leeuw; his first wife, Linda Sue De Leeuw; his second wife, Jeri Lynn De Leeuw; and his brothers, Larry Lee De Leeuw and Thomas Alan De Leeuw.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Williams; his children, Cristy Lee De Leeuw, Jennifer Lynn Theis, Sara Marie De Leeuw, and Joshua Michael De Leeuw; his sister, Mary Kaye House; and his cherished grandchildren, Kylee Nicole Morrell, Austin Gregory Theis, Mason Ryan Theis, Kinslee Ann Theis, Kaylee Rose De Leeuw, and Rylee Lynn De Leeuw.
A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at Victory at Pistol Creek, located at 1025 Montvale Road, Maryville, Tennessee 37803.
Mike’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now home with the Lord, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
