Marcella Jean Sims 02/07/1953-03/06/2026
Marcella Jean Sims, 73, of Walland, passed away peacefully at her home on March 6, 2026 surrounded by her family and friends.
Marcella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a very strong, selfless, faithful, and humble woman. Anyone who knew her, knows that she always had a song and a prayer in her heart. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, sharing Jesus, and telling stories with her people, whom she loved very dearly.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents: Joe W. and Helen (Cagle) Adams; infant daughter: Christina Sims; sisters: Patricia Adams, Brenda (Adams) Watkins; brother: Rodney Adams.
Survivors include: husband of 54 years: Steve Sims; Sons: Chris Sims (Erin), Chad Sims (Stephanie); Grandchildren: Sydnee, Tyler, Kenlee, and Sawyer Sims, Weston and Lexi Davis, Austin(Harley, Rose, Mia), Hunter, and Eli Sparks; sister: Jodean Adams Seal (Jimmy); Nephews: David Dockins (Debbie), Jason Seal(Sam), Justin Seal(Amy, Parker, Milo), Niece; Perrae Purkey(Jacob, Lily), close friend for over 55 years: Pam Ford; special friends: Donna Miller (Jimmy), Carolyn Moore (Billy), Melissa Chandler (Joey), Danny Davis (Lynn), and Judy Snow(Walter).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 11:30-1:00 at Oak View Baptist Church, 2704 Ellejoy Rd, Walland, TN 37886, with a service to follow officiated by Pastors Billy Moore, Scott Huffstetler, and Jimmy Miller. Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701, following the funeral at 3 p.m.
