Mildred “Millie” Marie Smalling Livesay Dockins, age 84, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away on October 2, 2026.
Millie was born on May 1, 1942, in Vonore, Tennessee, to Samuel and Virgie Smalling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kermit “Mike” Livesay; son-in-law, Joel Green; her parents, Samuel and Virgie Smalling; and siblings, Michelle Lovingood, H.T. Smalling, Charlotte Brummitt, Buddy Smalling, and Gwen Wear.
Millie is survived by her husband, Roger W. Dockins; daughters, Debbie Dockins and Becky Green; son-in-law, David Dockins; grandchildren, Trey Kirchoff, Kalynn Kirchoff, Alexis Rhodes, and Blake Kirchoff; grandson-in-law, Jeff Rhodes; and great-grandson, Calan Herron.
She is also survived by her siblings, Edna Bittaker, Karlon Thomas, Christine Cutshaw, and Dwight Smalling, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Millie loved animals and, above all, loved her family. To her grandchildren and great-grandson, she was simply “Nanny,” a name that reflected the special place she held in their lives. She was a wonderful Nanny and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Grandview Cemetery.
