Willie “Bill” Evans age 97 of Greenback, passed away peaceably in her sleep Friday, August 29, 2025, at her son’s home in Greenback. She was a member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist, Maryville. She was a former member of the Greenback Chapter of the Eastern Star # 401. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Evans; son, Danny Evans; parents, Leon and Ella Hammontree; and brothers, Tommy and Bobby Hammontree, sisters Mildred Disney, Shirley Jean Bell and Johnny Myers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Leneen Evans, grandchildren and great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 10am to 3pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Blount Funeral and Cremation. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, 11:00 am at Blount Funeral and Cremation, Rev. Scotty Huffstetler officiating, Kenny Evans will read the 91st Psalms and Bill Wilson will sing. The graveside service will follow immediately at Pine Grove Cemetery in Greenback.
